Welcome

Ever notice that the world is full of experts who have never actually done what they are "experts" at?

Many a business professor has never actually managed a business. Most business courses stress defining business terms but never actually teach the concepts of running a business.

This blog hopes to teach some of the terms and, at the same time, give some examples and lessons on running a business.

There will also be reviews of books on business listed here. Sometimes companies give me books to review. Regardless of where I get the book to review, I will give my honest opinion. If I was given the book to review I will always disclose that in the review.

I seek to start posting on 02 January 2012. Some of the posts will be recycled from some of my other blogs.

The reader should know that there is no one “Right Way” to conduct business that will apply in all situations. This blog is meant as a place to start. It is hoped that you will perform further research and consult professionals experienced in your particular business before making any important decisions.

Coming Soon

I know the other day I posted that I would be starting back posting this past Monday, things happen. I am feeling better, which is a plus. I have to get caught up on things, it’s tax season, and then I can get back in the saddle, so to speak.

My father died at age 52 of a dissecting aneurism of the aorta. Basically, his heart separated from his aorta. This is due to Marfan’s syndrome. I have most, but not all, of the characteristics of Marfan’s. My Grandpa McClendon died at age 42 of heart and kidney problems.

I am on a quest to be sure not to die so young. I have decided to lose weight and get down to where I should be, which is somewhere between 165 and 185 pounds. This would mean losing from sixty to eighty pounds since I topped out at 270. Sort of surprises anyone who knew me when I was a skinny teenager, huh?

Please pray with me that I will be able to reach my goal of 185 pounds. For now I am trying to diet and exercise. Prayers sure would help.

In the meantime, Saturday is Saint Patrick’s Day. This is a big deal since my family came from Ireland. A first cousin once removed of mine traced our family back to Scotland. I since have learned that our family moved back and forth between Ireland and Scotland for many generations. Please enjoy your Saint Patrick’s Day and I hope to get to posting again by Monday, 19 March 2012
