Welcome

Ever notice that the world is full of experts who have never actually done what they are "experts" at?

Many a business professor has never actually managed a business. Most business courses stress defining business terms but never actually teach the concepts of running a business.

This blog hopes to teach some of the terms and, at the same time, give some examples and lessons on running a business.

There will also be reviews of books on business listed here. Sometimes companies give me books to review. Regardless of where I get the book to review, I will give my honest opinion. If I was given the book to review I will always disclose that in the review.

I seek to start posting on 02 January 2012. Some of the posts will be recycled from some of my other blogs.

The reader should know that there is no one “Right Way” to conduct business that will apply in all situations. This blog is meant as a place to start. It is hoped that you will perform further research and consult professionals experienced in your particular business before making any important decisions.

Disclosure Statement

FTC Disclosure

When radio was young, the government saw a need to regulate it.  Private stations were everywhere and were tripping over each other.  The Federal Communications Commission was born to regulate radio.

They discovered that people would listen for hours to what they thought was a local station only to learn that signals were bouncing in from hundreds of miles away.  They instituted a rule that said every fifteen minutes stations would have to give what was known as an ID slug.  Stations would have to give their call letters, frequency, and the location of their transmitter.

The FTC (Federal Trade Commission)  has followed the lead of the FCC and stated that websites, blogs, vlogs, etc., must disclose the source of any revenues, or potential revenues, periodically.  The rule is vague so, in a good faith effort to comply with the rule, every so often we make a disclosure.  You will also find disclosure pages on our blogs and in our YouTube videos.  We also attempt to inform people of all paid advertisements on our blogs, though sometimes we might miss doing that.

So, without further eloquence, here are our disclosures.

Manian Debil Productions is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com.

This means that we offer links to certain products for sale at Amazon.com on our blogs, vlogs, and any websites.  When you purchase one of these products, we get a small commission from the sale.

We also sell books we have written, Shattered, How to Pay Off Your Debt, and Is Homeschooling Right For You?.  If you purchase these, we get a small royalty from Amazon’s KDP program.  We urge everyone to take advantage of Amazon KDP to publish their books.  It is free and relatively simple.  Through KDP, you can publish books in the Kindle format.  Also they have Amazon Create Space where you can publish print books free.  It is a print-on-demand service so, when someone buys one of the books, Amazon prints it and ships it to them.  You get a royalty payment without having to pay to publish it.

We also offer T-Shirts though Amazon Merch.  This is also a print-on-demand service provided by Amazon.  When you order a shirt, Amazon prints it and ships it to you.  We have no upfront investment and we get a royalty from the sale.

Over on our YouTube Channel, we have over 350 videos.  Some are short, some are long.  If you turn off your ad blocker and allow the video ads to play, we get a very small commission. If you click on a banner ad and make a purchase, we get a commission.

Review Policy:

We provide a lot of reviews on our blogs.  We started writing reviews of products we purchased and then authors, publicists, and manufacturers started contacting us and asking us to write reviews of their products.  Most of the time, the products we review have been sent to us free of charge or at drastically reduced prices.  The nature of how we got a product will not affect our opinion.  In the words of our favorite U. S. history teacher from Crescent High School back in Starr-Iva, South Carolina, “Eyes calls ‘em likes eyes sees ‘em”. We call them like we see them.

If someone sends us a book that uses God’s Holy Name in vain, we are going to mark it down.  If a book contains explicit descriptions of  acts that should only be between a husband and a wife, we will mark it down.

If a video has people who are not modestly dressed or do not behave in a conservative Christian manner, we are going to mark it down.

In the sidebars for several of our blogs you will find Paypal links.  These links are provided to allow you to make donations to support these blogs.  YouTube also allows people to make donations to our channel.  A small portion of the money you send is deducted from the amount sent to us to cover their fees.  The rest goes to the expenses we have involved with the creation of these blogs and YouTube channel, which may include the care and feeding of a large redneck and his beautiful child-bride.

Donations to Manian Debil Productions are NOT tax deductible.
