Welcome

Ever notice that the world is full of experts who have never actually done what they are "experts" at?

Many a business professor has never actually managed a business. Most business courses stress defining business terms but never actually teach the concepts of running a business.

This blog hopes to teach some of the terms and, at the same time, give some examples and lessons on running a business.

There will also be reviews of books on business listed here. Sometimes companies give me books to review. Regardless of where I get the book to review, I will give my honest opinion. If I was given the book to review I will always disclose that in the review.

I seek to start posting on 02 January 2012. Some of the posts will be recycled from some of my other blogs.

The reader should know that there is no one “Right Way” to conduct business that will apply in all situations. This blog is meant as a place to start. It is hoped that you will perform further research and consult professionals experienced in your particular business before making any important decisions.

Standing in the need of prayer

Friends,

We got a little bit of bad news today.  It seems my foot has gotten much worse.  The doctor said that it is likely that he will need to admit me to the hospital.  We go back next Monday to see.

For us, this it terrible news.  On the one hand, it means that I am worse off health-wise.  I may lose my leg. On the other hand, it will be the straw that breaks the proverbial camel's back.

Going to the hospital means a major financial set back for us.  In addition to the gas which is necessary for Suzanne to travel back and forth over 60 miles each day, there are other expenses that happen while I am in the hospital that don't happen when I am here at home. And, I really need for Suzanne to stay with me as much as possible because I am a very brittle diabetic.

It also means that our business will suffer.  We are just starting to hit our stride.  The YouTube channel brings in a few cents each day and Amazon brings in a few dollars each month.  Well, we earn this, but have not reached the payout level yet.

My laptop died so there is no way to do the blogs from the hospital.

We have had so much on us lately, financially speaking, that we don't see anyway we can afford for me to be in the hospital. This will probably be the ten count for us.  Please keep us in your prayers.  God will heal my foot by next Monday.  Have a great Thanksgiving.
If you would like for me to pray for you, please drop me an e-mail by clicking prayer.

  1. I am praying for you. I didn't realize the hospital was so far away, that does complicate things.

    1. Thank you. There was a hospital in our town years ago. It went belly up due to incompetence. They are trying to get it back. Let's hope they do. Have a blessed week and a Happy Thanksgiving.
